LIBERTY IS MUSIC

L.I.M. was established as a trio in 1999.

The reason for L.I.M. is the love for music, playing together and bringing good vibes to the world.
A nice blend of jazz and pop round and pleasent to the ears but still not boring, no plastic no shopping mall!
Whether you are a music lover or a musician yourself: you will love this kind of active easiness.

History
The formation was founded in summer 1999 by Ingvo Clauder, Lucas Dietrich, and Marc Vogel. During July and August ’99 was the first intensive working period.
Back then, nearly all the rehearsals took place at Jazz-club Lustenau (A).
At this point, Marc was still studying Jazz-drums in Graz, which was, though, not an unconquerable obstacle – in the contrary, this geographical variety was to become a characteristic of Trio and Error’s. As soon as Marc had finished his study in Graz and returned to Vorarlberg, Ingvo was already on his way to London where he studied at Trinity College until Summer 2002.
And as Ingvo, after half a year stop in Paris, moved for studies to Stuttgart, which was, thus, in a manageable distance to “Bodensee area” once more, it was Lucas who left for Paris in autumn 2002.

The musicians come from very different worlds, in terms of musical education, and that is essential for the sound characteristics of L.I.M.

Whilst Marc Vogel was educated in a rather traditional Jazz fashion at Musikhochschule Graz, Ingvo Clauder and Lucas Dietrich came from a more classical background. But also in that matter there is no purism.
While they were still studying the musicians where interested in other areas then the common places.
Ingvo Clauder is involved in Pop-projects, Composition, and Arrangements. Marc Vogel not only did Big-band Jazz and Bebop but is also interested in cutting edge streams of the youth: Drum and Bass, Jungle, Hip Hop.
Lucas Dietrich is moving in many different Genres, also because of his instrument.

The name of the trio changed several times during the years the first demo was called L.I.M. tracksessions after that the trio was called Triologie, Odem, Trio and Error.
Now it is back to the original name and back to the roots; playing for the sake of playing.
